Belly of the beast 8/15/02

Sat Aug 17, 2002, 1:34 AM
I visited my brother and sister in Chicago to celebrate my birthday. After going to the MCA to see the Gursky and Matas exhibits, my brother took me to the American GirlsȘ store on a lark. Holy Branding, Batman! What a bizarre place. To summarize:
It is a doll store where they 8 or so different base dolls.
You can buys clothes and accesories for the dolls.
You can buy clothes and accessories that match the ones you just bought for the dolls for your daughter (or your gender-confused boy).
You can buy a smaller doll for the doll you got for your child.
For the real small dolls, there's houses/ fully furnished rooms (the loft one looked like my friend's old apt.), and course clothes & accessories.
You can also get books for the child to read to the doll.
You can get smaller books for the doll to read to its doll (the small ones)
None of this stuff was cheap ($20 for normal doll size hat, $170 for small doll furnished rooms).
It was doing business like crazy

hey! thanks for the awesome comment on Bitter Morning! I agree that somtimes less is more- but i still can't help but feel that the sheets look stupid... :\
:iconspyed:
Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?

What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire deviant life, that there's something wrong with the story. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.

You take the blue pill, the story ends. Your browser closes and you believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland. And, I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

I offer only the truth, nothing more.

Take: The Red Pill
Take: The Blue Pill

Fella Point Right spyed, nobody has ever done this before.
Ninja Point Right I know. That's why it's going to work.

Do not try and bend the spoon ...

Thanks for the comment. You're right, i should have made a few of the flowers bent. I never even thought to do that, but I think it would've suited it.

thanks for the comment.
I didn't want the guy in back to look like he was in the front, it's just that there's supposed to be a strong light coming from the right, so he's illuminated quite well.
as for the bird, i dunno. he's just there, somehow :) (Smile)

Thank you for your comment and the suggestions. I like to keep things simple. Things tend to lose meaning when they're cluttered.
Thanks again.

the ghost idea was the whole point of the sketch but it was just a sketch so it wasn't really obvious. I was trying to make the male figure very vague. i'm not too good at backgrounds but thanks a lot for the suggestion and the compliment. I really apriciate the feedback.
